Ooookay, not as late as last time but still a little behind on getting this posted. You can blame that whole “work” thing for getting in the way… well, you CAN blame it if you want to but me, I like a paycheck so I’m keeping my big fat mouth shut… for once.

In any case, here’s what came home to live with me this week…

*Northlanders #26 (part 6 of 8 ) (VERTIGO) – Man, someone is going to make a movie out of this sometime and I bet you it will be killer. Scandinavian power struggles set in the winter of1020 A.D. It be a harsh harsh climate… both temperature and politics wise… makes for great reading.

*Nemesis #1 (ICON) – Awwwwww daaaaaamn sh*t gets blooooooowed up. BIG TIME. This one looks to be going for that Se7en/Saw-on-steroids-but-over-the-top thing. How do you stop a bad guy from being reeeeeeeeeeeally bad? I’m not sure that you do. KABOOM!

*Shuddertown #1 (IMAGE) – Clumsy detective story… not that the story is clumsy (although it is a little), the detective isn’t really super solid at you know, detecting… throw in some gritty edge and a stripper or two… there you have it. It’s got a lot of parts that I like but not quite sure how it will all come together. We’ll see…

*The Amazing Spider-Man #626 (MARVEL) – Hmmm… I didn’t completely hate this. In fact, I kinda liked it. I’m not entirely sure what happened in the world of Spider-Man (he’s got some roommate lawyer lady hanging around now?) but, the tale was strong enough that I want to know more. Which is definitely a plus right? Maybe Marvel has a title I could care about… would be nice.

*Captain America #604 (MARVEL) – Okay is Brubaker can’t sell me on Marvel, ain’t no one gonna. Still need to read this but am excited to think there there could be at least two Marvel direct titles that I could get behind. So that’s something right?

*The Guild #1 (DARK HORSE) – Yup, I bought it. And you know what? It is just as f**king adorable/rad as you think it would be. Go Guild comic go!
