Totally true. And why is that so hard for people to remember that a comic shop is just that, a shop. People take the comic audience for granted at times.

It is about how to make your comic shop more female friendly. And you know what, I don't think it is so much about how to make it female friendly, but really consumer friendly. Which I like. So read it. And then you can write a new article about how awful it is

I tried to get an ex to read James Robinson's Starman because she had read Fables/Walking Dead/Sandman (basically all the 'expected' ones) but I could never convince her she'd like it so after suggesting it twice I dropped it. My hobby doesn't need validation from someone else. I am happy to share though.

My husband wasn't all that into comics. I told him he aught he give “Preacher” a try. And he did. And he loved it. After that, he ASKED me what books he should ready next. And boy did I have suggestions. And you know what? If he didn't like “Preacher”, it wouldn't be a big deal because we have plenty of other things to talk about. That's called a healthy relationship.

It's even worse–a woman wrote the article. A woman who, by her own admission, has fallen prey to the tactics she describes. I'm like, girl, you are dumb and your boyfriend is a jerk.

If this were on Facebook, I would have clicked the “like” button on this. As for the article that dude wrote, correct me if I'm wrong but I imagine what girls like even less than being “tricked” into reading comics is having some asshat write an article about how he accomplished it and how others can to. Ladies just looooooooooooooooove to be embarrassed about things in a public forum. It shows how much you value their “words”. Way to make sure you don't see your girlfriend nekkid anymore dude.
