    +1 to Whedon being a good thing for The Avengers. For all the reasons mentioned. And because I'm just a major fanboy and want to see more of his work, whatever it is.

    +1 to Chris Evans being a bad choice for Cap. He's just got too much 'snark' and seems too young. I'm not really a Capt. America reader, so by all means correct me if I'm wrong, but I just see him as a fairly uptight, essentially humorless, uber 'citizen', and physically more 'intimidating' than Evans.

    In an off forum conversation, the subject came up of whether the actor playing him needed to be American. Even as a non-reader, there's a part of me that really wants him to be. Wants to make sure some innate 'Americanness' comes across. Whatever that is. But I think I'd forgo that if it was the right 'non-American'.
